July 31 2009 - Note - we'll be switching over to the new website within the next couple of hours. (still www.losultimate.com). At that point you'll want to update your RSS Feed as the feed address will change.

July 29 2009 - Updates have been few and far between due to work on LOS' next-generation website. Check out a build here (note the overall similarity - it's mostly back-end changes). We'll hopefully be switching over soon.

In Ultimate news - the team will be heading to Highpoint, NC's Furniture City Shootout. Our roster will be a bit pared down, but expect the same intense high-flying action. We may do some more live-ish updates courtesy of twittertown.

July 17 2009 - LOS heads down to Charlotte for the Queen City Tune-Up. We've also opened a twitter account - @losultimate. If we remember we'll try to send some updates out about the weekend.

June 10 2009 - Try-outs have wrapped up; emails and calls are being made. Many thanks to everyone who came out this year - it was by far our most competitive try-out class. Lots of talented ultimate players in the area.

The LOS Invite also has come and gone. Check out all the results - as always, a good tune-up/preview of NC ultimate. A brief recap: In Pool A LOS X won out, beating the Y-Rates 13-6 in the third round. The Queen City Thunder (with a legion of players - great to see) pulled off the upset on a short-handed (but skilled) Boneyard squad, taking the third spot in the pool.

In Pool B the X-Rates took the pool, beating LOS Y 13-8. Wilmington took third ahead of Cannibal (also with 20+ players. As a Cannibal captain noted, this was the first time many of them had taken the field together - they should be a developing force throughout the season).

Since the LOS and X-Rates split squads would be playing each other for the 1-4 spots, both teams agreed to re-combine and play for the championship. It was a tight game the entire way (no team leading by more than a couple) - but LOS pulled away at the end, winning on a Callahan goal, 13-11. The remaining games went to seed.

Some solid play all around as teams tested out new players and also began to get returning players up to speed. As always, should be a competitive year in North Carolina. Thanks to all the teams for coming out.

June 2 2009 - LOS' first weekend of try-outs are in the books. Thanks to everyone who came out and worked hard both days. We'll be sending out invites to the second weekend shortly. If you don't receive an email from one of the captains by Wednesday evening, please let us know.
